Together through the use of simple dance and movement exercises, we will be systematically, physically working our way through the seven energy centers, of our own bodies. These rainbow colored energy fields and their centers, are often referred to as “the charkas” in the Vedic traditions of India. Relating these centers to the principal elements of earth, water, fire, air ,ether, light and incorporating them into our dance will be our challenge.

Dancing is an ancient practice to connect ourselves with our body feelings.

During the workshop we will work with an extraordinary collection of eclectic music coming from all over the world. This music is intended to stimulate these charkas specifically into a certain awareness of themselves.

We will also explore the possibility of becoming very creative and expressive with our dance. We will use simple techniques of theater, and use art to transform pain as well as be who we are in this body and express it .

Some time will be dedicated to exploring the possibility of internal peace and quiet feelings of silence and emptyness . Being at peace with ourselves can be amazingly rejuvenating.
